Shobak CastleShobak Castle is located at an altitude of 1330 m above sea level and about an hour from the city of Petra on the desert road.It is believed that the Shobak area was inhabited in the Edomite period and then restored in the Nabataean period.It seems to have been used as a small monastery for monks until rebuilt by the Crusader prince Baldwin.

The first ruler of Edessa and then the King of Jerusalem in 1115 AD was called (Montreal) The castle includes nine towers, including circular, rectangular and square, decorated with writings and decorations from the outside and the main entrance in the east.

'um qays

Umm al-Jamal, the most important northern city in the east, is located on the edge of the eastern basalt desert and at the crossroads of the ancient roads linking Syria, Jordan and Iraq. What is worth visiting are the remains of several ancient churches, basaltic arches and the remains of a Roman castle.
