The castle mountain includes many ancient and beautiful monuments, including:


 


- Temple of Hercules:


The temple is also called the Holy Square, but most of its monuments have been erased with succession of years, leaving only two high columns, which are important witnesses to perpetuate the ancient history, and the Emperor "Aurelius" built this temple in addition to the construction of a statue of Hercules at the entrance to the temple, leaving no facade Only six columns.


 


Church of the Byzantines:

 


The church was founded in the 6th century AD in 550 AD, and is one of the Byzantine archaeological churches.


 


- Jordan Archaeological Museum:


The Jordan Archaeological Museum, built on top of Jabal Al-Qalaa in 1951, displays many of the artifacts discovered during excavations in all areas of Jordan.

The museum is designed by the British engineer Austin Harrison, who designed the Palestinian Museum in Jerusalem. The area of the museum is about 550 square meters.


 


The Jordanian Archaeological Museum has many rare artifacts, including:


 


- Neolithic statues of Ain Ghazal were discovered in 1985 by accident while building a road in the area of Ain Ghazal where they were displayed in the Jordan Archeology Museum.


 


- The copper file, which is one of the Dead Sea Scrolls and was discovered by a boy grazing sheep while searching for Shah Shardah in the cave of Khirbat Qumran.


 


- The Taiki Amman statue, discovered in 1956 during the museum's garden at Mount Citadel.


- Pottery sarcophagi, similar to Pharaonic sarcophagi, were discovered in Jabal Al-Qusour in Amman.


 


The Umayyad Palace


The Umayyad palace is located in the northern part of Jabal al-Qal'a, and dates back to the 6th or 7th century (730 AD).


The castle mountain consists of three different parts. Historical books mention that the palace was built on ancient Roman foundations.


 


 


The Tourist Importance of the Citadel Mountain:


It is an important attraction in the capital Amman, where many concerts are held due to its location which overlooks most areas of Amman and its vast squares. Jordan.
